Bathing

Our bathing efforts are focused on the health and welfare of your pet. The skin is a vital organ and must be tended to on a routine basis.

Normal bathing involves a basic shampoo, soak and rinse. The combing and brushing that follows is to remove all loose, stray hair; spreads out natural oils in their coat and restores a healthy skin/hair balance. It is one of the simplest things you can do for your pet and one of the most important. Most pets replace their hair coat every 7 months, so maintenance becomes essential. 

Medicated baths address special needs. They include baths for pets with allergies, dry or oily hair coats, infection, mites and the occasional encounter with a skunk!

Cats and dogs need to have their nails trimmed on a regular basis as well. Your dog’s claws should never extend so far that they come in contact with the ground when he is standing on a flat surface. Nails that are too long can lead to foot problems, or crack and tear near the nail bed which is painful.

Bathing at Hickory Pet Inn includes the bath, brush out, blow dry and nail trim. Your choice of oatmeal, brightening or flea & tick shampoo is included.
